February 8-10, 2019 the West Texas Tennis Benefit Pro-Am will host its 8th annual Pro-Am tennis tournament at the Falls Tennis and Athletic Club. The proceeds from this charitable event will benefit NAMI, Texas – Lubbock Chapter.
NAMI Texas has a variety of education and support programs directed to individuals living with mental illness, family members, friends, professionals, other stake holders, and the community at large to address the mental health needs of Texans. Suicides and attempted suicides are a public health crisis in Texas. Adolescents in Texas are twice as likely to attempt suicide than the national average, and suicide is the second leading cause of death for those between the ages of 15 and 34. Comprehensive interventions would dramatically reduce these tragedies. Untreated serious mental illness can present a risk of harm to the individual and to others. Suicide prevention and public safety should be a priority for Texas.
Please contact Eric Huntley at 806-786-6044 or Melanie Littlefield at 806-789-3077 for information about sponsorships or playing.
